So, I was scrolling through the interwebs (as one does when they want to procrastinate) and I stumbled upon these two images that got me thinking. The first one shows this world-leading infectious disease expert apparently explaining why the government is doing what it's doing (or not doing what it's not doing, as the case may be) with regards to, well, you know. And the second one lists the top 10 causes of death. Fun times, right?

Okay, I gotta admit, I don't really understand all of what this guy is saying. But he looks like he knows what he's talking about, so I'm just gonna go with it. I mean, I don't suppose he'd be a world-leading infectious disease expert if he didn't, right? So, yeah, government, listen to this guy! Or don't. Whatever.
Top 10 Causes of Death
Well, this is cheery. Apparently, the top 3 causes of death are heart disease, stroke, and something called chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (which I assume is bad for you). And y'know what's crazy? These 3 things account for almost 40% of all deaths worldwide. That's nuts! And the rest of the list doesn't get any better. Cancer, diabetes, kidney disease...it's like, c'mon, life, why you gotta be so difficult?
Anyway, I'm not really sure what the point of all this is. I suppose it's just a reminder that life is short and fragile, and we should probably try to enjoy it while we can. And also to wash our hands and wear a mask (if applicable) and all that jazz, I guess? I dunno. Just do your best, I suppose. That's all any of us can do.
